Learn and Make in the Quad: Sublimation Printing
A sublimation printer uses polymer-based dyes and paper to create images, such as a favorite photo. Using a heat press, these images are transferred onto a variety of objects, including ceramic tile, wood, metal, and plastic. Due to heat and pressure, the dyes are absorbed into the polyester surface of the specially treated item to create a permanent image.
Bring your favorite photo, or a design you created, saved as a .jpg or .png, on a flash drive or smartphone and make a photo coaster, mug, bookmark or other item. Limit 1 item per person/per month. Ages 8-adult.
Materials housed within the library as well as graphics or illustrations obtained by patrons may be protected by copyright. Patrons are responsible for abiding by copyright restrictions and obtaining any necessary permissions when using those resources.
Children under 13 must be with their adult guardian at all times, and their behavior cannot disrupt other makers, or keep library staff from their duties.
