The SO Very Literary Book Club meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month from 2:00-3:30 pm.  
For 2023, we will focus on a variety of genres, award winners, and a banned book.
Everyone is welcome.  Come join us for a year of passionate book discussions!

April: The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, banned book - This novel has been banned many times--sometimes by whole countries such as Portugal and Spain in the days of Salazar and the Francoists, sometimes by school boards, sometimes by libraries. It is set in near-future New England, a strongly patriarchal, totalitarian state, which has overthrown the government of the United States.
