Pioneer Center Youth Program: Aria 51

Pioneer Center Youth Program: Aria 51

Aria 51 combines classical and folk instruments, including cello, classical guitar, bass, violin, and ukulele with singing to create a unique approach to a variety of musical styles. Julie Holloman, Kat MacMartin, and Evan Stern use interactive activities while presenting classical, jazz, rock, folk, pop, Latin, Irish, and Hawaiian music. Students will learn song lyrics, rhythm patterns, and movement to help identify instrument sounds, musical styles, and music basics, enhancing curriculum related to geography, culture, and language.

Aria 51 brings an extensive background in music and education. Julie holds a degree in music education and taught K-6 Music for the WCSD for 13 years before opening the Aria School of Music & Art. Evan studied Musical Performance at UNR and plays with the Carson Symphony. Kat performs with the Carson Valley Pops, Carson City Symphony and other groups in the area. All
three teach for the Aria School.
