High Noon with Neal Cobb: Nevada Women's History Project presents: Nine Notable Nevada Women

A presentation of the Nevada Historical Society, High Noon with Neal Cobb is a monthly history series that delves into Nevada topics with local experts. Neal Cobb is a passionate historian and honorary curator for the Nevada Historical Society. Each month he is joined by a different guest presenter.

This month’s presenter is Sue Davis, president of the Nevada Women’s History Project. Join us for a brief presentation about the Nevada Women’s History Project and the stories of nine notable Nevada women who broke barriers, were environmentalists and elected officials, and had landmarks named for them.

Davis taught history at Wooster High School for many years. In 2003, she left the classroom to become the director of five Teaching American History federal grants totaling $5 million. She also served as the social studies coordinator for Washoe County School District. She founded the Northern Nevada Council for Social Studies, a professional organization for teachers. After retirement, she joined the Board of the Nevada Women’s History Project and is the current president.
