Reno’s Mail Service: The Earliest Days to Now presented by the Historic Reno Preservation Society

Join Debbie Hinman for a presentation on Reno’s mail service, exploring its history from the earliest days to the present. You will see Reno’s impressive first post office building, which is no longer with us, and you’ll hear details of the amazing décor of the second post office, which has been decommissioned but still stands proudly on "DeLongchamps Corner" in downtown Reno.

Debbie is a Reno native and University of Nevada, Reno graduate. Active with the Historic Reno Preservation Society since 2004, she is a researcher/writer for FootPrints, HRPS' quarterly publication, and also creates and delivers summer walking tours in different sectors of Reno. Debbie served for seven years on the City of Reno Historical Resources Commission.

This event is part of the Historic Reno Preservation Society’s second Sunday speaker series, a monthly series of presentations on subjects of local historical interest. Registration is required.
