This musical storytelling adventure for kids features the Hans Christian Andersen story “The Nightingale” adapted by Kevin Lau. It’s presented by the musicians of the Reno Chamber Orchestra, featuring pianist Kelly Kuo, violinist Ruth Lenz, clarinetist Karl Busch, and narrator Amy Heald.

The Reno Chamber Orchestra was established in 1974 by a group of local musicians working in casino showrooms. During its 50-year history, the Reno Chamber Orchestra has flourished, now boasting six regular season concert sets, a statewide youth concerto competition, and community partnerships that build pathways for access to classical music for all.
