NHS Lecture Series: History on the Go presents "Boundary Boondoggle: The Chaos and Confusion of the California/Nevada Border"
The Nevada Historical Society's building may be closed for an exciting remodel, but you can still enjoy their fascinating lectures at the Sierra View Library during their closure. NHS Nevada History - On The GO! Series is combining their three history programs that delve into Nevada History, Lake Tahoe, and the American Gaming Archives gambling and gaming history. Make sure to visit Sierra View Library on the first Saturday of every month to learn more about Nevada’s history through these engaging talks that are geared towards audiences of all ages.

Speaker: Deborah Fox, historian, author, and artist
Title of Talk: Boundary Boondoggle: The Chaos and Confusion of the California/Nevada Border Summary of Talk: Deborah A. Fox’s colorful presentation about the oblique line of the Nevada/California border and the disastrous 1861 Boundary Reconnaissance, complete with camels, lost guides, and a villain.
Speaker Bio: Deb Fox is a historian, mixed-media artist, and designer with an accomplished career in film and television, earning two Emmy nominations. Fox’s career expanded to writing and directing commercials and corporate content.
Her first graphic novel, Everett Massacre: A Graphic Novel, won a Washington Museum Association Award. The Man Who Beat Death Valley, based on the TRUE STORY of William Lewis Manly, is her second graphic novel about real-life hero William Lewis Manly. It has won rave reviews, a North Street Book Prize, and a National Indie Excellence Award.
She now enjoys using her creative energies as a graphic novelist. When she isn’t researching or making art, Deb enjoys hiking, camping, cycling, and taking road trips with her husband.
