High Noon with Neal Cobb: Reno Rodeo Mural Video and the Historic Reno Rodeo Talk
A presentation of the Nevada Historical Society, High Noon with Neal Cobb is a monthly history series that delves into Nevada topics with local experts. Neal Cobb is a passionate historian and honorary curator for the Nevada Historical Society. Each month he is joined by a different guest presenter.
Artist brothers Erik and Mikey Burke were commissioned by the Reno Rodeo to paint 1,800-foot mural timelines of the history of the Reno Rodeo. The mural surrounds the Reno Livestock fairgrounds to commemorate the 100 years of the Reno Rodeo Association.
Neal Cobb is a Reno native, and was involved in his family’s business, Modern Photo. Neal inherited fourteen large boxes of old Reno and Northern Nevada photos and printable film after his parents died in the 1980s and subsequently authored two books, Reno Now and Then, Books I and II. He has worked closely representing the Nevada Historical Society, having presented over 500 programs in Northern Nevada since 1988.
