Monster Mash!: Classic Monster Movies--Night of the Living Dead Rescheduled Date

Due to the Davis Fire, we missed our showing of Night of the Living Dead. Please join us for this rescheduled date!

Vampires, zombies, and ghosts…Oh my! When cinema began in the early 1900s, monster movies, and adaptations of popular horror novels, were incredibly popular. The Dracula story alone has been adapted to film over 500 times! Creature features have changed over the decades; from the Universal monster series of the 1930s, to the Vincent Price films of the 1950s, and onward to the zombie and slasher films of the 1960s and 1970s, these films have continued to scare, thrill, and fascinate audiences. Come join us as we uncover classic stories of vampires, werewolves, zombies, ghosts, and mutants, as well as an affectionate spoof of the genre. Some of the stars featured include Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, Claude Rains, Lon Chaney, Vincent Price, Julie Harris, and Gene Wilder. Each film will be introduced by library staff, and followed by a brief discussion.
