On Tuesday, December 24, the Duncan/Traner, Gerlach, and Verdi libraries will be closed. The Senior Center Library will close at 1 pm, and all other Washoe County Libraries will close at 4 pm. On Wednesday, December 25, all Washoe County Library locations will be closed for the Christmas holiday.

Neal Cobb is a passionate historian and honorary curator for the Nevada Historical Society. He loves all things Nevada. Eilley Orrum’s life was one filled with adventure, travel, riches, poverty, happiness, and disappointment. She was the epitome of a pioneer in the mid-1800s, and a strong pioneering woman who forged ahead through all life’s situations that embraced or failed her. 

August Speaker: Sandi La Nae

Among Sandie La Nae’s many talents in the metaphysical world, add to her resume the title of author. To date, she has written thirty books, many with co-author, Special Works Historian, Arline La Ferry. La Nae’s volumes include several genres: history, paranormal, memoires, about minerals and Sandie is a published poet.
