Site-specific dance is work that is created in response to a particular place or site, inspired by its architecture, design, history, or current use. Destination Dance will feature the work of local choreographers who have been commissioned to create unique performances juxtaposed against iconic downtown fixtures, taking traditional and contemporary dance off of the stage and into a new environment. Tour guides will be equipped able to discuss the history behind the various sites and the inspiration behind each artist’s choreographic decisions.
